5th Year Art Trip 2022

in Departments, News

Thank you so much to all our wonderful guides today. We started at the National Gallery Of Ireland where we saw the Yeats Exhibition ‘Painting & Memory’ and The Zurich Portrait Prize Exhibition. The tour guides were really fabulous and we all enjoyed discussing the art together so much.

We also went on a Street Art Tour with Alternative Dublin. Our guide, Diarmuid, was excellent and brought us to see really interesting pieces in Temple Bar. We enjoyed analysing the different pieces, their messages and the techniques used to create them. As part of this tour we visited an artists studio, Aga Szot, at The Icon Factory. We really appreciated the time she spent talking to us about her work and processes of making.

Also well done to 5th Year Art who gave it their all today and really got the most out of the day. They got so many complements and did us all proud representing our school.
A big thank you to our visiting French teacher, Amelie Monod and past pupils, Cyd Cleary and Lara Walsh who facilitated the visits. Without your help we would not have been able to attend the tours. We had 3 pods and practically had the whole gallery to ourselves!

It’s a great time to visit museums and galleries and to support the arts. If you want to buy a raffle ticket in support of adding more culture and art to Dublin follow this link.]
