BT Young Scientists & Technology Exhibition 2022

Congratulations to all eleven of our BT Young Scientist finalists. The projects are varied and show great scientific interest and initiative. The students have worked hard on their projects under the guidance of Miss Maloney and the Science Department and we are very proud of them.

Isabel Murphy, Kim Moore and Niamh Mullane project  ‘Cleaning confident’, measures the efficiency of different cleaning products.

Ella Conlan, Róisín Cawley and Jenn Cronin investigated the short term effects of mobile games on heart rate in their project ‘Games of the heart’.

Isabella Riordan, Mia Minch and Sophie O’Donnell created an App to help combat the decline of fitness levels due to the drop out of organizes sports by girls during their secondary school years – ‘You go girl- An app for girls by girls’.

Aoife Copeland and Ciara Ahern  investigated leaf stomata as an indicator of pollution in their project Climate change isn’t a future problem, it’s a now problem’. 

The exhibition took place digitally between the 12th and 15th of January and students enjoyed the experience as they explained and discussed their research with the judges.
