Today, Donal Brady from Peter McVerry Trust came into the address all Transition Year and Second Year students. Donal explained the main causes of homelessness in Ireland. He told us that eviction is the number one cause of people becoming homeless. He spoke about the services of Peter McVerry Trust. He asked us to be mindful of people’s dignity when donating clothes. He asked us to donate something we would like to receive ourselves.
JPIC are running a bake sale in aid of Peter McVerry this Friday in the Hall at lunchtime. Transition Year students are being asked to bake goods. Everyone else is being asked to bring money in to buy goods or get their face painted.
