Mary Ward Week 2024 is taking place in our school next week from 22nd to 26th January. Attached are the full and summary version of timetables.
Themes of the week
· Fast Fashion and the promotion of Sustainability in fashion
· Leadership in the context of the Mary Ward values – Truth, Justice, Freedom, Sincerity and Joy
· Reasons and background to the current conflict in Gaza
Mr Jim Gavin, former Manager of Dublin Football team will speak to students about Leadership.
The Palestinian Ambassador will explain the causes of the current conflict in Gaza to TY students.
Ms Ingrid Hoey and her friend Ella who is the owner of Siopaella, a 2nd hand clothes shop in Dublin will talk about Fast Fashion and sustainability in fashion.
Other events include the Loreto Education Trust Bake off competition, peer teaching about Loreto ethos, workshops, documentaries, decoration of hub and reception and laying of the wreath at Teresa Ball’s grave.
Throughout the past week, students and teachers have already been busy working together making posters, preparing decorations and discussing the incredible life and values of our founder Mary Ward.
