Musical Auditions – Update

in Departments, News

Update on what we’ve done so far!

We had our first-round audition from the 9th to the 20th of September. Everyone was welcome to audition, we picked 1-3 characters to audition for. The auditions were held in the music room with Ms Browne. Everyone was a bit nervous as it was our first time auditioning. Eighty-one people auditioned (the most people to ever audition!)

On the 20th of September callback messages were sent out. Forty-one people got callbacks, they were delighted as their hard work had payed off. Callbacks were held on the stage in the hall in front of Ms Browne, Ms McMahon and Ms Gallagher on the 2nd of October. Callbacks started at 2pm and didn’t finish until 9:30pm. Everyone nervously waited in Ms Donnelly’s room until their name was called. The fifth years waited with us in Ms Donnelly’s room and they were so supportive.

Dance rehearsals started on the 13th of September until the 20th of September. Ms Gallagher taught us two very fun dances one tricky dance and one easier dance. Dance auditions were held on the following two Fridays everyone was extremely excited as we love to dance. We got to do our dances in groups of 6-8. We were also given the opportunity to show off any gymnastics, ballet or tap we could do!

This Friday 11th of October the roles for Aladdin the Musical are being announced. Everyone is so excited. We will also be watching the Aladdin movie together.
